Qualifications:
Master’s degree and valid Texas license as a speech-language pathologist granted by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
Demonstrated commitment to professional growth and learning
Demonstrated effectiveness as a professional role model
Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
- Provide instruction and leadership to assigned speech-language pathologists (SLP) and licensed speech-language pathology assistants (SLPAs).
- Provide guidance in district expectation and processes to assess student progress on speech Individual Education Plans (IEPs), including training and technical support.
- Develop and coordinate an ongoing evaluation of the district speech program and recommend changes based on findings.
- Assist with determining SLP and SLPA caseload assignments.
- Present individual and group staff development training on assigned topics to assist in the identifying and understanding of students with special needs.
- Support and assist assigned staff to ensure appropriate and timely completion of assessment and Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) committee paperwork.
- Assist with supervising, training, and evaluating assigned SLPs and SLPAs.*
- Assist with ordering, inventory, and distribution of materials and equipment.
- Establish and maintain open communication and a professional relationship with SLPs, SLPAs, and support team members.
- Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly.
- Keep informed of and complies with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
- Compile, maintain, and file all paperwork in a timely and professional manner.
